How to Remove Mold from Smart Soil (in Under 2 Minutes)

Have you noticed some mold or algae growing on your smart soil? If so, don’t be alarmed! Such types of mold and algae are normal and completely harmless. Smart soil is an extremely clean, plant-friendly environment that’s free from fungicides. The fact that it’s so clean and full of nutrients  also makes it a tempting place for mold to grow. It’s important to remember that algae or mold will not harm the growth of your Click & Grow plants in any way.

If you'd like to remove and prevent mold for aesthetic purposes, here’s a quick and easy way to do it:

  • Remove the plant pod’s u-shaped lid
  • Gently scrape the mold off the smart soil using a paper towel (take care not to harm the roots of your plants.)
  • Sprinkle a thick layer of cinnamon powder over the smart soil. Cinnamon is a natural fungicide against mold.
  • Replace the u-shaped lid to keep the soil protected
